Help me know the different parts of the window so I can tell you what's wrong.
Sash - the part that surrounds and holds the glass
Glass or Panes - the clear part of the window that you can see through
Insulated glass - two or more panes of glass with a sealed gap that helps insulate between the two panes
Balances - An integrated spring system in the frame of the windows that makes it easy to slide a double-pane window up and down
Weather stripping - the foam or plastic piece around the window that keeps air from going through
Tolerances - Setting the right gap around a window so that it's not too loose (air gets in) or too tight (hard to operate).
What are some more details about the company?
We are based out of a facility near Middlebury, IN on CR 35. We've been in this area for almost 30 years with only 3 primary owners. We manufacture new windows, keep parts for repair and have our headquarters for service and support. We've continued the legacy of long-term customer support. We're built on the idea that the customer's needs come first. We're not trying to make a fast dollar by giving an unnecessary upsell. Instead we make sure adjust to your needs and budget. We want to make sure that every customer has a good experience.
We know that you're not just a customer, you're a homeowner and a part of this community. An investment like windows needs a long-term relationship, so that in 10 years you can find us where we've always been. We want you to be safe and happy in your home. We commonly serve Elkhart, Lagrange, and St. Joseph counties in Indiana and also many areas across the state line in Michigan. We generally serve an area within about 2 hours of Middlebury and will sometimes go even further.
How do I know if it's worth fixing or not?
That's how we make it easy for you. There aren't many specialized window repair companies in our area. Maybe you've already had a window salesman tell you that you need new windows. We've had times where a $60,000 new window quote from another company turned into a $2,200 repair bill for existing windows. The customers were left with a solution that will last for a long time. We train you in maintenance so that they will last longer. There's no cost to getting our assessment and a quote so don't be afraid to get in touch. We believe our most profitable path is when you get the best solution for your situation, not when we try to make our sale as big as possible.
What should I expect with a service call?
Once we are contacted our service tech will set up a time to come out and look at your specific job. while there they will address your concerns and recommend the best course of action for your windows. Generally access to the interior of the window will be needed. for glass repairs they will measure your glass and get a quote around for service and repairs. after repairs are approved glass will be ordered and once it arrives you will be contacted for install.
What if my window is beyond repair?
If your window is beyond repair, our service technician will recommend replacement of the window. Generally, if the window frame and sashes are in still in working condition, window glass or hardware will take care of the issues. Sometimes a window could be repaired but will need enough parts and labor that a window replacement may be better for efficiency and costs.
